CV Joints & Driveshaft’s – The Constant Velocity or ‘CV’ joints are used to drive the wheels, attached to each end of the driveshaft, they transfer drive form the prop shaft/transfer box to the wheels. Most ABS systems house the sensors and ABS rings on the outer CV joint, giving the CV joints dual purpose. Driveshaft’s are used in the instance where either the joints are expensive to manufacture on their own, or where the driveshaft has malfunctioned.
CV Boots – CV boots are made from a high quality rubber compound, designed to keep the CV joints surrounded in CV grease, because the joints are constantly rotating an absorbing the movement caused by bumps and contours in the road
Items such as Calipers, Starter Motors, Alternators, Drive Shafts and Steering Racks that we stock at Kimbercarparts will carry an additional ‘Surcharge’ costing which will be automatically added to your Shopping Basket when you select the part. This is normal practice due to the extensive costs of manufacturing new castings for these items.
